The Club Assembly
Introducing the New Club Structure and the incoming Board.

 

Guests and Visiting Rotarians:
Fines and Happy Bucks: President Steve asked one person from each table to be the fines master. Ilene fined Rama for following Doug Eckel's footsteps for coming up with a good joke. Jack Bingham fined his table and Mike's table for not dressing up. Corel fined her table for electing her to be the fines master during her short absence from the meeting.
50/50 Draw:  Thanks to Erik we had a draw for a tool set. It was won by Paul Leroy.


President Steve asked Peter Stam to introduce to the club the new board members and structure for the upcoming year. Peter introduced the new org chart for the club. We are going back to the traditional structure. A copy of the chart can be found on our WEB site under club documents. He stressed the fact the club needs some continuity in terms of leadership. Steve Halyk will guide the club in his capacity as the past president in providing guidance to Peter and Paul for the coming year. Peter Stam has also provided a binder to each club director that spells out their roles and responsibility. Peter stressed the importance of communications with membership. He is planning on a fixed schedule for board meetings and a means of communicating with the membership with regard to the board decisions.

A brief presentation was made by each director with regards to their roles and responsibilities. Paul Leroy will assume the role of club secretary assisted by Ilene. Gibson will assume the role of club treasure. Gibson is planning on automating the accounting process so that we can provide the current financial statements to the members and the board. Norm will assume the role of the fund raising director. Byron will take the role of the services. Coral will be responsible for the club administration. Mike Sheehan will be responsible for Club Image and Publicity.

Terry Hemsworth and his committee has been working very hard on membership. The have a new membership kit for prospective members. Our information brochure is also available for prospective members. Terry's committee has an ambitious target of 10 new members before July.

Peter thanked a number of club members that worked on planning for the upcoming Rotary Year and charting a new course for our club to be successful in years to come.

Peter brought up a couple of items that were brought up at the last board meeting that required approval for the membership.

1. To use part of the monies raised during the Fish Fry silent auction towards Rotary Foundation up to a maximum of $100.00/member (US) - Passed unanimously.
2. Peter to purchase a ATV for a fundraiser during outdoor show, farm show, woodshow and other events. - Passed unanimously.




Fish Fry: Our 24th annual Fish Fry is all set to go this Saturday April 16th, 2005. The ticket sales appear to be going very well. We need a firm number this Wednesday to ensure the success of this event. We will be collecting any unsold tickets this Wednesday. Please all the ticket monies. If you are not going to be at the meeting please call Gary and Rama to confirm the ticket numbers. We will be setting up the hall on Saturday morning around 9:30. Please come out and help us. We no longer have bingos we no longer have community challenge. This is the only big fund raiser our club has.  Please come out and support us.
