December 9 meeting: PDG Doug |Vincent
A Journey of Rotary Service . . . Philippines
On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, our own PDG Doug Vincent will report on his recent travels to the Philippines. During his time there, he visited our humanitarian projects and spoke at the Manila Zone Institute, where senior Rotary leaders gathered from across Southeast Asia.
He will share his shocking experience of finding Joel - the Man in a Cage - and his emotional roller coaster ride while trying to free this man from his pris...on.
Through his UN and Rotary network, he was able to negotiate with a mental treatment facility in Cebu to accept this victim for assessment and treatment. He also was able to visit an Air Force General, who assisted in planning the evacuation with a medical team.
This is sure to be an exciting adventure as we ride along with Doug, sharing his Rotary service experiences and our club's work. Doug is a highly rated speaker across the Rotary world and we are fortunate to have him share his humanitarian activities.
