Our finemaster Paul Bradford was raking in money this evening. Pretty much the whole club was fined. Norm had the happiest buck because his wife Helen is home again and Coral and Mike are grandparents of a beautiful baby girl (Isabelle). Congratulations !

President Mike discussed the district conference of October 20th, 2007 in Orangeville. Very good speakers this year. Also everybody is invited for November 5th to join a meeting for Rotary Foundation for all the Oxford CLubs. Costs are $ 35/person and Erik Tremblay has tickets. Speaker is Mary Jane Howie and she is talking about Polio Plus. Meeting starts at 6.00 pm at Quality Inn.

Tracy Hillier is the speaker for this evening. She is doing her classification speech. She has been a member of Rotary before. Tracy is married to Peter Kratzmann and she has four children. During her professional life she has gained a lot of knowledge trough Rotary. She joined for the first time in 1990. At that time she was 26 years old and working as a insurance broker in the Niagara Region. Rotary gave her a business education. Her lifelong goal is to have a form of education.

Rotary has improved her capacity as a business person, mother and teacher. When she married Peter she moved to Woodstock, raised a family and continued her education. She has her doctoral in Business Administration with speciality in Social Responsibility.

Tracy has a consulting practice and teaches full time at Fanshaw College. IF she makes a plan for a business she starts with making a framework and ends with implementation of the plan. It is important for a business to act responsible in our society. Something that is legal doesn't mean it is ethical. There are lots of problems on this level in our society. Think of Martha Stewart, Enron, sponsorship scandal.

A business needs to be ethical on a economic, social and environmental perspective. The main purpose of a business of course is to make a profit.

Tracy's time is filled with teaching, workshops, her consulting practice and her family.

Peter Stam asked Tracy is she uses the 4-way test in her teaching. When making a framework she uses a 9-step plan and the 4-way test is part of that.

Norm thanks tracy for her great speech and also for the things she did already for Rotary in the past. We are very happy that she chose our club and that she wants to use her skills for Rotary.

President Mike mentioned that Monday October 29 everybody is welcome at the house of Peter Stam. That evening he will demonstrate the use of Clubrunner on the computer. Everybody is welcome at 7.00 pm. The teams will be responsible for making the minutes every week in the Clubrunner from now on.

Paul Leroy wins the draw and Steve Halyk donates $ 500,= on behalf of TD Bank. The bank recognizes his Rotary membership. Thank you very much.

Coral asks about next meeting for Rotary Foundation Committee. Paul B. and Mike will set up a date.

Steve is updating the status of Our club for Ontario Government.

Meeting adjourned at 8.00 pm.
