Outdoor Farm Show - Pieter Stam reported that the total income from the raffle of the lawn tractor at the Outdoor Farm Show was $3600.00.  The proceeds/profit of $975.00 will be donated as part of our commitment to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation.  A suggestion was made that if we do another raffle we should begin our plans earlier and consider obtaining more sponsorships in order to cover the total costs so that all ticket sales will be profit.

BINGO - Coral Sheehan reported that she attended the annual meeting of the BINGO charities on September 16 in place of Mike Sheehan.  There is a new owner of the BINGO hall in Woodstock who also owns halls in Leamington and Chatham.  The owner has plans to improve promotions and marketing and is exploring the possiblility of moving the hall to a different location.  The charities learned at the meeting from the city clerk that from August, 2006 to January 2007 the City of Woodstock would not be topping up the charities' proceeds to $500 per BINGO since the community grants fund is now empty.  It was also reported that every organization must commit to a minimum of six BINGO's for the year.

Our club's next BINGO is on October 17.  Mike Sheehan will be sending out a notice and a roster of members' names for the BINGO.

Exchange Student - Pieter Stam informed the club that we have now received the profile of the inbound exchange student from Mexico who will be arriving in January.  Our club will need to arrange for one host family and the Rotary Club of Woodstock is responsible for two host families.

Terry Fox Run - The 26th annual Terry Fox Run was last Sunday and was once again organized by our club.  There was approximately $ 7000.00 raised in Woodstock.  Thanks to Norm and Helen Narancsik for their outstanding efforts and commitment to this event.

Our guest speaker/topic of the evening was provided by Ilene Buchanan.  Ilene spoke briefly of her recent trip to Scotland and promised that photos would follow later.  She facilitated a trivia contest which was won handily by the more aged half of the club members present at the meeting.  (There are those of us who are still wondering who Mary Pickford is...)  A good time was had by all!
