Toy Auction:   Peter Stam presented the budget and actuals from the Toy Auction in August.

District Conference:  Peter Stam and Erik Tremblay attended the District Conference Oct 17 & 18 in Brampton.  The theme was "The Rise and Fall of Rotary Clubs, Exploring the Stages of Club Success and Failure".  At the end of the day they made a special mention about our Drive for Polio Eradication campaign.
Just a little bit about some of their speakers:

Jack Tacoma:  past president of the Guelph Trillium Rotary Club.  He has some simply amazing and simple insights into the working of not-for-profit organizations - such as Rotary Clubs.  Jack's candid presentation described the development and interplay of the Four Essential Elements of Every Rotary Club.

Hon. William G. Davis: Bill spent most of his political career introducing Brampton to the world.  He was the 5th consecutive Progressive Conservative to hold the Office of Premier since 1943.  He sets his own style through a complete reorganization of government structures, using the administrative skills and thorough knowledge of government acquired during 12 years as a Minister of the Crown.

Dr. Jean Clinton:  is a child and adolescent psychiatrist in Hamilton, ON as well as an assistant clinical professor at McMaster University's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurscience.  Jean has been an advocate for children and adolescents for many years.  Her topic "Early Child Development links to Literacy and Health...What Rotary can do."

To those who did not attend this conference, it looks like we missed a good time.  If you are free to attend next year, please make an effort to do so.

Birmingham England :  We watched a promotional video for the International Convention in Birmingham England in June 2009.  If you would like to see this DVD, speak to Norm.  He will be happy to lend it to those that missed it!

Next Week's Speaker:   Next week the speaker will be Mike Nickerson.  Team 1 is in charge of the night.

Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
