The District Youth Exchange Weekend at Pittock Conservation Area was a great success again, we had 27 exchange students from 14 Countries and 9 of the students were Canadian, which just returned from a year away to these Countries.

To begin the weekend we had a Student Counselor meeting after which Boston Pizza provided us with lots of Pizza. In the afternoon the Woodstock Rotary Club provided us with a Dragonboat practice and Race and a BBQ and some soccer afterwards. http://picasaweb.google.com/pstam12/RecentlyUpdated?authkey=Gv1sRgCL64ndmez7a45gE

In the evening we build a campfire and some of the students never saw their bed (tent).

Sunday morning we made breakfast and played some more soccer, the students had lots of time to get to know each other and it showed when they were leaving after lunch as there were some tears flowing already.

Thank you to Sally, Erik, Jack, Edie and Nick for cooking etc.

Our Speaker this evening was Hajra Wilson, she is a member at the Cambridge North Rotary Club and is realy involved in Polio Eradication. She showed us a video which you can click on here http://www.hbo.com/docs/programs/thefinalinch/video.html  it takes 38 minutes and is very worthwhile watching.

Here you can see how difficult it is to get all the children immunized. Hajra has participated in 3 National Immunization trips, she went to help in Camaroon, India and Burkina Faso and Togo and she is planning another trip to India to immunize children again.

If you want to go along, please contact us. Thank you Hajra for your presentation and your dedication to make a Healthier World for our Children.  www.rotary.org/endpolio
