Hello Woodstock Rotary Club
I went to the school dance. The Ball was great fun, I got to dance all kinds of dances, the waltz,
tango, virginia reel, salty dog rag, and the school's very own dance. We
performed for a surprisingly large audience, which made everyone a little
bit nervous, but thankfully it didn't make us mess up too much. We took
lessons at school, it was really fun to see the Finns loosening up and
laughing at themselves for a change.
My host parents were at my house in Canada on Friday night until Saturday
morning of last week, they called me and told me that everything was great
and they were having an amazing time. They are in Canada visiting their
daughter who is on exchange in Burlington this year. I thought that it would
be interesting for them to meet my real family so I suggested it and they
had a really good time together so all worked out well :)
The winter seems to have lasted only a couple of months back there. Here winter
is (supposedly) coming to an end soon, and I haven't yet gone ice swimming,
I guess I should get around to that....if I must...

These past few weeks have been a lot of fun for me, aside from the pressures
of working out some health issues, payment problems and other matters of
business that have popped up, I have been very busy having fun with my
Finnish friends. Just this past weekend I went to Turku to see a bunch of
exchange students who were having a going away celebration for a Brazilian
which was also a birthday party for an Argentinian girl and also for a Finn.
It was a great time and I really enjoyed seeing all those exchange students
again, and meeting so many new ones as well. Soon I'll be going to Helsinki
for a weekend with a friend of mine and Vaasa with my host parents.
I did get all those problems worked out for the Euro Tour so now everything
is going very well and smoothly. I love Finland but their banking system
here is demonic and extremely xenophobic.

I hope everyone in the club is doring very well and I'm glad that they get
all my letters, I know that they all worked on getting me here so I really
do appreciate them for it. I owe you all the oportunity of a lifetime.

Talk to you again soon,
-Piers
