This year is off to a good start, already one month into the new Rotary year.
I am just getting used to chair our club, it is not always easy to think of all the things that need to be done but with your patience and help we will try to make it a good year.
This club has accomplished many things in the past and has helped many people in need, i.e. locally Ingamo Homes, Women's Emergency Centre, Sunshine Foundation, Woodstock Hospital, Rewarding Young people for their leadership and community service through Rotary Medals, V.I.P. (Values, Influences, Peers) program in our elementary schools and abroad with water wells in the Philippines, Christmas shoe box program in Mexico, Polio Plus eradication Program which with all our clubs we raised more then $600.000.000 and other programs.
You should be proud of all the things you have helped with your Service Above Self, and that is what Rotary is all about, people giving of their time and money by helping people in need without monetary rewards, but warm feeling inside after you the need of people and are able to do something about it. This year I hope we can continue that trend with your help.

It has been a busy start with the ATV ticket sales and I want to thank everyone involved, because it does take away free time. We are well on our way with the sales, between $7000.00 and $8000.00, and with your effort I am sure we will do well with the sale days coming up.

The Dragon boat Race was last Saturday and for us it was success succes, we ended up with second
place medals in the C division, Thanks again Norm for organizing this and thanks to all the people that participated by paddling in the Dragon boats, it was lots of fun, if you have never participated, you should do it the next time.
Our outbound exchange student Piers Evans left this past Saturday for Finland to start his exchange year there, if you think of it please send him a note sometime at email poolpiers@hotmail.com
We have many projects coming up and I hope we can count on all of you.
