Recap of Meeting Aug.15 2007

This evening our meeting was at Erik and Manon Tremblay.
Past president Paul Bradford presided.
Invocation by Jack Bingham.
Guest introduction by Coral, our guests were:
Harro Van Leyenhorst from Holland, guest of Peter Stam, Lisa Andrew, guest of Doug Vincent, Tom Hemsworth from Calgary, Mr. Utting, guest of Paul Turner, Lata Murthi, dear wife of Rama and of course our hostess, Manon, dear wife of Erik.
Manon and Erik put on a delicuous meal, I whish we could sign them up to do every meal, Thanks Manon and Erik.
The business part was short, the Toy Auction preparation is coming along.
We still need a couple of people to help out on Sunday, consigment sheets need to be in the latest on Wednesday Aug.22th.
Thank you to all that are helping out and also to the people that are bringing in donations to the auction.
A vote was called in support to recind enactment 07-231 wich was passed by the council on legislation in April.
If you need to read up on it, the explanation of that enactment was send to you all by President Michael on July 24 2007.
The vote passed with no opposition.

Norm spoke about the Terry Fox run on September 16 2007, he needs some help with this, so please if you have some time, call Norm.
He also explained that the City of Woodstock is charging us $100.00 to use the Gazebo in the park were it is planned to start the Terry Fox run.
As a club we are very displeased with this charge as we are trying to raise funds to fight Cancer for our total community.
This Gazebo and surrounding gardens were put in place by local businesses either in total or partial donations and we don't think these businesses donated this for the City to make money from their donations, but to be able to be used for the enjoyment of our community.
Norm is still looking for donations, please contact Norm if you have something to donate.
The meeting on the 29th of August was discussed and since that day there is the Frank Cowan golf tournament it was suggested that we have a breakfast meeting in a restaurant somewhere, Coral was to speak to President Michael about this.
Erik and Manon's backyard is a good place to hang out and have fellowship, so some of us stayed till 9.30 P.M.
Our meeting on August 22 2007 is at Nicole and Darren Warboys-Couwenberg's place.
